I had some brake work needed that I had been putting off until I couldn't put it off any longer. I couldn't get an appointment with my usual shop until a week later so I began looking at alternative options. Decided to give Caton Automotive a try based on the reviews. Here are my thoughts:1) Digital Inspection Report - this is the most thorough and complete feedback I've ever received from a mechanic. Photos AND video of the issues that needed attention was very impressive. Most shops will tell you what they find and if you left your vehicle with them (which is usually 99% of the time) you just have to take their word for it. Caton Automotive will actually SHOW you the problem digitally. In addition to the brake work I had put off, I knew the drive belts were way overdue to be replaced but it had slipped my mind. The inspection report showing me the cracks and dry rotting was very much appreciated. Though I knew it would be an additional cost, it was necessary and I'm glad the problem was identified.2) Professionalism - Tyler is very thorough and meticulously explains exactly what needed to be taken care of.3) Price - I knew this would be a relatively pricey job but the work needed to be done so I approved it without questioning it. However, I did reach out to five other shops I had used in the past to compare the price. Caton Automotive's price was lower than four of the five quotes I received. The only shop with a lower quote was still in the same range and likely didn't include sale tax so I would consider them in the same ballpark.4) Invoice - I received a very thorough invoice. What I like was that they included information on the exact parts used. I looked at some old invoices from other shops and noticed it would just say "brake kit" versus tell you the precise brand and part information so that I can check for myself the quality of the parts used.5) Availability - I don't know if I just got lucky, but I called the afternoon before I brought my car in, got an appointment the next morning, vehicle was ready by the end of the day. Exactly what I needed.Please keep in mind, this is a home business/repair shop so you may be thrown up a bit by it not being a traditional repair shop. However, every aspect of Caton Automotive is legit and professional. And everything non-traditional about this shop is actually for the better. It is almost like this, would you rather go to a doctor seeing 50 patients per day or one with fewer patients who can give you more individual attention?Ultimately time will tell regarding the quality of the work and I will certainly update my review if I find any issues with the repair. But so far I am VERY please with my first experience with Caton Automotive. It is hard to find dependable, reliable mechanics you feel that you can trust. I would definitely recommend Caton Automotive.

I scheduled an appoint on Monday evening via their Website. Tuesday morning I received a follow up call to confirm my appointment for Thursday at 11am. Took my vehicle in today for an 80k mile multi-point inspection. The inspection was favorable, I received a call and email from Tyler with the results of his findings. The were multiple priory item ranging from 1-3, all items expect one priority 1 item was taken care if today. The other priority one item will be addressed next week after the part arrives. I’m very pleased with the excellent service and service I received. Impressive! The best shop experience I've ever had. I got a tie rod replaced. Dropped off at 8am. I got a call from Tyler around 9:30am to go over the tie rod but also some random stuff I talked to him about last minute. Everything was given to me in a list in order of priority. I also received and email with the same details. By 11am I had my Durango back. Tyler is an easy guy to work with and talk with. I'll be back for sure. I called the day before to make an appointment. He provided parts as well in a 3 hour window. I also paid less than I was quoted originally.Btw I took it in for the drivers side tie rod but Tyler looked into both and determined the passenger side was actually more the issue. Could've easily just did what I asked and not told me anything like most places will do. Honest man, rare breed. Cool shop, check out the tool box!
